From 24th to 27th December, Dawn and Robert came home for their Christmas visit. We prepared many fun activities to do together which we will show you in this blog. The theme for this particular visit was of course Christmas! We were also kindly joined by Luke and Louis for this visit!
Christmas Eve Party
The family came together to host a Christmas Eve Party! From homemade baked goods to the festive tunes, it was an all round success and loved by everyone! One of Dawn’s favourite things was the games, particularly Christmas Snap! We then enjoyed a special McDonald’s treat!
Christmas Day
The day finally arrived! We have our own special Christmas traditions and schedule! I love how each house celebrates their Christmas differently. It’s a day for family and friends to spend time together and cherish moments.
Our day started with present opening, followed by a festive breakfast (and a lovely bucks fizz). After picking out outfits, we got ready for the exciting day ahead! We had our family photoshoot even getting the cats involved! It’s then time to cook lunch and enjoy a pre drink of sherry and a sausage roll. A hour later, Christmas roast chicken is served. We can’t forget about the crackers and pudding too!
The afternoon is spent playing board games, checking out presents and socialising with family. Of course we had to watch a Christmas movie (Nativity for the win)! As evening approached, we had our festive dinner with nibbles.
Activities
The family and Dawn enjoyed lots of activities over the Christmas break. Some notable favourites were:
– Big game of Christmas Snap
– Listening to lots of festive tunes
– Baking cheddar + rosemary savoury biscuits
Recipe of the month
The recipe of the month is our tasty decorated gingerbread recipe.
